UNSEEN?

Clarisse Oberle

Clarisse grew up in the South of France, with Indonesian and German heritage. More than 10 years ago, she relocated to Berlin after living in Paris and Amsterdam. During the past decade she has been inspired by visual media, human encounters, and community. “My drive comes from a deep interest in the mind and body connection, the way our society changes and evolves through communication and personal interactions. In the past, I have worked as a creative director, producer, camera assistant and curator.“

UNSEEN is where running and art converge, shining new light on the interlacing stories of marathoners and photographers on race day. It’s an exploration of the runner as artist and, often, vice versa.

Preparation. Execution. Pain. Euphoria. The drama of crossing the finish line and getting the perfect shot are often one and the same. To showcase these triumphs, we collected deep cuts from the hard drives of photographers who’ve shot Marathons worldwide and over the past decade. Our annual exhibition and magazine bring these visual stories to life on race weekend and in print.

Berlin enables me to channel my passion for visual culture, including film, photography, arts as well as to create thought-provoking and culturally significant projects that go beyond aesthetics. My ultimate goal is to integrate my diverse interests, talents, and beliefs in both my personal and professional life, embracing novel perspectives in taking different approaches.
